- Fourth and fifth grade students in Readers Rally attended the county competition for the first time and placed 6th among the elementary schools in attendance
- Staff and students contributed $5602 to United Way and our Relay For Life Team raised $6,320 for the American Cancer Society
- The Student Council donated 170 new toys to Toys for Tots, in conjunction with the other schools in the North Gwinnett Cluster
- Several students had artwork displayed in Terminal T at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport from February to April
- The school's first annual talent show highlighted more than 50 individual and class performances

- Third grade students participated in honoring 45 veterans in our first annual Veteran's Day Program
- Student Council led a Toys for Tots drive in conjunction with the North Gwinnett Cluster and collected more than 300 toys
- A 1st grader won the American Education Week Media Contest and was named elementary-level winner for the North Gwinnett Cluster
- Staff and students contributed $5,000 to the United Way
- Relay For Life raised $6200 for the American Cancer Society
- Warrick Dunn of the Atlanta Falcons participated in the NFL Take a Player to School Program at Sycamore
- Poems written by 34 students in grades 4 and 5 were selected to be published in "Anthology, A Celebration of Young Poets"
- A second grade class was the recipient of the Nationwide Learning National Book Challenge. The class wrote and illustrated a book, titled "Winter Poems"
