    Promoting Student Well-Being

In the next few weeks (Friday, January 24th at Richards), the Gwinnett County Middle Schools will conduct our annual scoliosis screening to find children with suspected curvature of the spine.  The screening is done yearly in the middle school grades (6th and 8th grades) as required by state law, the Department of Human Resources, and the State Department of Education Guidelines

For more information, please click here to view the form that was sent home with students last week.

If you DO NOT want your child to be screened, please complete this form and return to your child's B Connection Teacher.

  • Vaping and E-Cigarette Use Among Youth

"I am officially declaring e-cigarette use among youth an epidemic in the United States."
    -U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams

E-cigarette use, also known as vaping, poses a significant – and avoidable – health risk to our nations young people.  Today, more middle and high school students use e-cigarettes than regular cigarettes. In fact, the use of e-cigarettes is higher among high school students than adults. This is concerning as we know those who vape are 4 times more likely to start smoking cigarettes.
