    • Sycamore was awarded the 2007-2008 Environmental Achievement Award, presented by Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful
    • Fourth and fifth grade students in Readers Rally attended the county competition for the first time and placed 6th among the elementary schools in attendance
    • Staff and students contributed $5602 to United Way and our Relay For Life Team raised $6,320 for the American Cancer Society
    • The Student Council donated 170 new toys to Toys for Tots, in conjunction with the other schools in the North Gwinnett Cluster
    • Several students had artwork displayed in Terminal T at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport from February to April

    • Third grade students participated in honoring 45 veterans in our first annual Veteran's Day Program
    • Student Council led a Toys for Tots drive in conjunction with the North Gwinnett Cluster and collected more than 300 toys
    • A 1st grader won the American Education Week Media Contest and was named elementary-level winner for the North Gwinnett Cluster
    • Staff and students contributed $5,000 to the United Way
    • Relay For Life raised $6200 for the American Cancer Society
    • Warrick Dunn of the Atlanta Falcons participated in the NFL Take a Player to School Program at Sycamore
    • Poems written by 34 students in grades 4 and 5 were selected to be published in "Anthology, A Celebration of Young Poets"
    • A second grade class was the recipient of the Nationwide Learning National Book Challenge. The class wrote and illustrated a book, titled "Winter Poems"

  • 2005-2006

    • A 5th grade teacher was named one of 24 Bellsouth Excellence in Education Award winners for 2005
    • A gifted education teacher who was recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching was recognized by the State Board of Education
    • Students raised almost $4,000 for families affected by Hurricane Katrina
    • Art Club students participated in the Holiday Card Contest at Stone Mountain Park and won second place for their entry
    • Staff and students contributed $4,000 for United Way
    • Thirteen poems (by 4th and 5th grade students) were selected to be published in "Anthology, A Celebration of Young Poets"
    • Sycamore's representative was one of the finalists in the Gwinnett County Public School's Spelling Bee
