  • National Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15 to October 15

Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

Help us celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month here at Shiloh Elementary School!

    • We will have a daily trivia fact about each of the 21 Spanish-speaking countries during our morning show. In addition, there will be a scrolling slide presentation.
    • We would also like to invite students to bring in cultural items, pictures of foods and/or clothing from any of these countries as well. Students will be invited to come on the morning show for a special Show and Tell to talk about their country. Take a photo of your item(s) and bring it to the show.
    • Stop by to see our Wall of Fame which includes famous people from artists, sports, scientists, musicians, actors and many more!
    • Be sure to check out the world map highlighting the 21 Spanish-speaking countries, located outside the cafeteria.
    • Looking for a good book to read? Stop by the Media Center to check out a book written by a Spanish-speaking author!
    • Visit the art display outside the Media Center showcasing student work of Hispanic artists.
    • Watch videos of Spanish dancing, songs, soccer demonstrations, book read-alouds on the Shiloh eClass page.
