Riverside Rocket News & Announcements
Gwinnett County Public Schools’ School Nutrition Program is providing free meals for children, ages 18 and under between June 14 and July 2. Families will be able to pick up breakfast and lunch at most Gwinnett middle school sites from 11 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday. (Due to construction, Jones MS and Five Forks MS will not provide curbside pick-up.) A child does not have to be a student at the school site to receive a meal. Note that GCPS cafés also will provide free breakfast and lunch on school days to K-8 students attending GCPS’ Summer Enrichment and Acceleration (SEA) program (June 14-July 2) and to high school students attending in-person summer classes at Collins Hill HS, Duluth HS, and Parkview HS (June 14-July 7). To help ease the hardship from the COVID-19 pandemic, Gwinnett County Community Services is offering free grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches. Curbside pick-up of nutritious meals is for 18 years or younger or those 19 years of age or older with a physical or mental impairment.
We will be offering an exciting camp this summer for our newest Riverside Rockets! This camp will give our new kindergarten students the opportunity to meet new friends and get to know his/her new school! The camp will last for three days and will involve many fun activities that will leave your child looking forward to his/her kindergarten experience. Our time together will allow your child to become comfortable with the lay-out of the school, enjoy the playground, eat snacks in the cafeteria, and meet some of the kindergarten teachers.
