  • Boys Basketball

    Mission/Purpose: The boys' team is established to promote community and school spirit. It gives an avenue for young student athletes to show their talent and to be part of a team. 

    Planned Activities: Practice players' basketball skills through morning practices, work on building and establishing good sportsmanship through various activities, play other competitive middle school level basketball teams throughout the county.

  • Lady Falcons Basketball

    Mission/Purpose: Lady Falcons basketball is designed to help student athletes grow and develop to their fullest potential. Lady Falcons will not only work on basketball skills they will work on good sportsmanship, team building, and strive to be successful students in their core classes.

    Planned Activities: Practice their basketball skills through morning practices, work on building and establishing good sportsmanship through various activities, play other competitive middle school lever basketball teams throughout the county.

  • Cheerleadering

    Mission/Purpose: It is our mission to uphold the pride and spirit of Dacula Middle School by supporting our athletic teams, as well as serving as leaders in our school and local community.

    Planned Activities: 7th and 8th grade; Practices are Tuesday and Thursday 4:30-6PM

  • Intramurals

    Mission/Purpose: Intramural sports are recreational sports organized within an educational institution.

    Planned Activities: DMS will offer various team sport opportunities before and after school throughout the year. There is no financial cost to participate and there will be coed opportunities throughout the year. Parents will need to provide transportation and contact information to the intramural sponsors. Specific sports and dates will adjust according to the number of participants and their activity interests. Morning intramurals will be held from 7:45am - 8:45am in the lower gym. Afternoon intramurals will be held from 4:15pm - 5:30pm in the lower gym and PE field.

  • Art Club

    Mission/Purpose: The Art Club provides students the opportunity to work in a cooperative atmosphere with others who share an interest in creative activity.

    Planned Activities: Meets the First and Third Tuesday of the month. Art club will be doing various activities throughout the year. Every year we create ornaments for the faculty and staff of DMS as a Thank you for everything they do, we will have an Art Club logo contest the winning logo will be featured on the Art Club page in the Yearbook as well printed on the Art Club T-Shirts. We will explore various art mediums and have fun with the art process.

  • Drama Club

    Mission/Purpose: The Drama Club is a performance-based club. Students utilize teamwork, acting skills, and public speaking to prepare for after school performances.

    Planned Activities: Meets each Wednesday from 8:00am - 8:50am in Ms. Neal's room on Red Hall.

  • Film and Media Club

    Mission/Purpose: Students will explore digital expression through narrative and documentary film creation. Initially, students will observe techniques used by other creators before developing their own works. Screenwriting, animation, digital editing and the production cycle are topics to explore. Membership is limited to 15 members.

    Planned Activities: We meet twice monthly on Thursday afternoons.

  • First Lego League

    About FLL: First Lego League is an international organization founded by accomplished inventor Dean Kamen in 1989. FIRST has a proven impact on STEM learning, interest, and skill-building well beyond high school.  Alumni of FIRST programs gain access to exclusive scholarships, internships, and other opportunities that create connections and open pathways to a wide variety of careers.

    Mission/Purpose: The mission of FIRST® is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

  • Girls Who Code

    Mission/Purpose: Girls Who Code is a club in which members participate in whole-group activities that are designed to help club members get to know each other and explore bravery, resilience, creativity, and purpose through real life examples of computer scientists. Club members celebrate successes and strengths, reflect on progress, and solve problems together.  

    Planned Activities: Girls will learn how to code in a variety of languages, including block-based and text-based languages or develop the skills they already have to build animated stories, create games, and create apps.

  • Impact

    Mission/Purpose: A student-run club, the Impact is a club that provides students the opportunity to share and fellowship with other students who have similar interests. FCA was originally started for students involved in athletics but has expanded to include all students who wish to attend.

    Planned Activities: The IMPACT Club meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 8:15AM in the Lower Gym Fitness Room.

    Affliation: This is a student-run club.

  • Junior Beta Club

    Mission/Purpose: The purpose of the DMS Beta Club is to promote the ideals of character, service, and leadership among students.

    Planned Activities: The club meets once a month and we toggle days to accommodate as many students' schedules as well as other school functions as possible.

  • Language Explorers Club

    Mission/Purpose: This club is for students interested in exploring the Francophone and Hispanic worlds. We will investigate language and culture, focusing on a different country or festival each month. Enrollment in French or Spanish at any level is not required. 

    Planned Activities: We will meet monthly starting in September. More details to come as the year shapes up.

  • Readers Rally

    Mission/Purpose: To promote reading with students who desire to share their love of reading with others.
    Planned Activities: Meets at 8:15am weekly in the Media Center.  This is open to 6th – 8th-grade students and they are required to read 15 books.  We will attend the GCPS competition at Peachtree Ridge High School. Activities will vary depending upon what the students would like to participate in. Planned activities will include the creation of a favorite book choice poster, PowerPoint slide about the book or video about the book, and the chance to participate in Gwinnett County Readers Rally Quiz Bowl.

    Other activities may include lots of discussions about the books and the creation of a book journal record as well as the use of a graphic organizer to record information from the titles read.

    Mission/Purpose: Student and staff travel organization.

    Planned activities: DMS will offer students and staff the opportunity to learn and explore various local, state, and national sites of interest in relation to various AKS in an effort to build upon a sense of community.

    Mission/Purpose: We are a group of people passionately committed to bringing intentional focus to fathers around the world. Our message will inspire you to embrace who you are, give you tenderness of heart, and boldness of character as a dad and husband. We are consistently here for you to provide guidance and practical tips in raising your kids in a life giving way.

    Planned Activities: Meetings are held one Thursday each month

  • Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)

    Mission/Purpose: Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is the largest student organization in the nation and we are honored to give our students the opportunity to become active members of this coveted organization. The mission of FBLA is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. As an FBLA member at DMS, you are encouraged to participate in school and community service projects, state and national leadership development programs, local, state, and national conferences and competitions, and a variety of social events throughout the year. We encourage all of you to join us this year!

    Planned Activities: Meet every other Friday beginning 2nd Friday of school (August 16th) at 8:15AM in Ms. Mumpfield's Lab (Blue Hall 3.106).
