Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS)

  • Gwinnett’s curriculum for grades K–12 is called the Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) and is aligned to the state-adopted Georgia Standards of Excellence in Language Arts (K-12), MathematicsAKS (K-12), and literacy standards for Science, Social Studies, and Technical Education for middle and high school students.

Special Education and Psychological Services

  • A 2x2 picture grid of special education students Gwinnett County Public School's Department of Special Education and Psychological Services is an award-winning program focused on meeting the special needs of individual students. In its quest to provide "quality learning through quality education for all student," the Department of Special Education and Psychological Services provides a wide range of services, including assessment and interventions. Students age 3-21 are eligible for special education and related services within the district.
