Zooming with a Meteorologist

Learning from a Meteorologist

Fourth graders met virtually with Dr. Robin Fox on Wednesday, December 7th.  She talked with students about various weather instruments that meteorologists use and what they use them for.  Students learned about weather satellites, weather balloons and weather stations.  They were also very interested to find out that meteorologists create forecasts for people in a variety of jobs, like pilots, firefighters and fishermen.

At the end of the meeting, a student representative from each class asked a question to learn more about the weather.  This is important research for our yearlong project based learning question - How can we, as data analysts, solve problems that improve the livelihood of our school garden?  Dr. Fox gave us a wealth of information that will help our students find out!
