Learning About Erosion

Second graders have been learning about erosion and ways to stop erosion caused by water. Students were given a bucket with soil in it and were tasked with coming up with a way to keep the soil in place. They had a wonderful time building structures to hold their soil in place before we tested them out by pouring a cup of water over the soil. We had some great structures and most of the soil stayed in place...they were able to stop the flow!
