This Networking and Cloud Computing program is ideal for students with a genuine passion for the computer industry.
Students will be exposed to various aspects of network hardware and software maintenance and monitoring, configuring, and supporting a local area network (LAN) and a wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems.
Taught from an industry perspective in a non-traditional classroom environment, students will be engaged in interactive project-based learning activities and a modern online certification curriculum. Students will apply a variety of fundamental skills utilized in entry-level computer network systems positions.
Cloud Computing will allow students to dive deeply into cloud computing best practices and learn how cloud computing helps users develop a global infrastructure to support innovative technologies.
Dual Enrollment
The Dual Enrollment program provides eligible students opportunities to earn both high school and college credit while studying at Grayson Tech. First semester students will take the college-level course CIST 1001 Computer Concepts. This course covers the fundamentals of processing, security, industry ethics, hardware operation, networking, the Internet, design concepts, and software at a rigorous college level. Students will be required to have passed a college entrance exam such as the ACCUPLACER, ACT, SAT, or PSAT to qualify for credit.

Dr. Wendy Dyer
Dr. Wendy Dyer is the Networking and Cloud Computing Instructor at Grayson Tech. Dr. Dyer is a graduate of the University of Georgia where she earned a Bachelor's of Education in Mathematics. She received her Master’s in Mathematics Education and her Specialist in Curriculum & Instruction from Piedmont College. She also received her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Argosy University. Dr. Dyer taught a combination of mathematics, information technology, computer science & programming and game design over the course of her 20+ years at Grayson High School. She enjoys teaching computer science and serves as an advocate for equity in computer science. Her goal is to encourage all students to pursue their dreams in computer science and information technology.
