• Phoenix High School 7th Period Program

    Phoenix High School welcomes students from other Gwinnett County Public High Schools to take one or two classes after their regular school day on our campus.  Students may choose to take courses at Phoenix in order to get ahead in earning credits, to make up credits, or to open up slots in their regular daily school schedule.

    Traditional 7th Period

    All classes at Phoenix incorporate individualized, small and large group instruction.  Teachers utilize a variety of instructional tools, including eClass, where they can remediate and/or accelerate the pace of the course for individual students.  This is determined by the teacher based on the course content and/or the student’s attendance/progress in the class.

    Students are expected to attend classes at Phoenix High School in person and complete work Monday - Thursday and selected Fridays.

    NEW - Students that finish their course early have the option to sign up for and start another class (deadlines apply).

    Phoenix Flex 7th Period

    Students enrolled in Phoenix Flex courses will log-in and complete assignments in MYeCLASS daily and should expect to spend a minimum of 10-15 hours per week working on course work in MYeCLASS.  Students may complete their flex work at home or on-site at Phoenix HS.  All flex students must attend an on-site orientation at Phoenix HS the first week of class.  Flex students must completed writing assessments and take tests, final exams, and EoC's on-site at Phoenix HS.  Teachers are available on-site at Phoenix HS (main campus) in Room 279 to assist flex students with understanding material or to administer tests Tuesday-Thursday from 4:00-7:00 PM.

    Mini 3 Class Dates: January 8, 2025 - March 6, 2025

    Mini 4 Class Dates: March 10, 2025 - May 14, 2025

     

  • To enroll as a 7th period student (Traditional or Phoenix Flex) at Phoenix High School 

    • Students should meet with their local school counselor to discuss proper course selection and to notify them that the student plans to take courses as part of Phoenix's 7th period program.  Some classes require prerequisite course work so students should check with their local school counselor to make certain they have met the required prerequisites.  Please see the list of available courses below.
    • Once a student meets with their local school counselor, they should register for Phoenix courses online through MyPaymentsPlus during the designated registration window (see registration dates below).  If a student is already a registered user in the MyPaymentsPlus website then they should log in with their user name and password to access registration. If a student is new to using MyPaymentsPlus then he/she will have to complete the steps to become registered in order to register for his/her class(es).
    • Students must pay for each class at the time of registration ($175 per .5 unit course OR $200 per .5 unit course for late registration).
