Dear Parents and Community Members,
I am Ryan Queen, and I am so very pleased and excited to begin my eighth year as principal at Trickum Middle School, the greatest middle school in the nation. Since its opening in 1975, Trickum Middle School has benefited from strong leadership, caring staff members, dedicated teachers, committed parents, and excellent students. It is with a great sense of gratitude and an enormous responsibility to carry on that tradition each and every day. At Trickum our mission is to ensure learning for all and daily the teachers and staff are singularly focused on that goal of learning for all students. We look forward in partnering with you to enhance our ability to ensure the learning for your child.
For those of you new to Trickum and/or the community, please let me take this opportunity to share a little about my educational background and experiences. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biology and Secondary Teacher Certification from Oglethorpe University, a master’s degree in Science Education from Georgia State University, and an educational specialist’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University. I have had the good fortune to have a wide range of experiences in my 26 years as a Gwinnett educator. I have been a teacher, coach, local school technology coordinator, assistant principal, Curriculum & Instruction Director, associate principal, and principal. Through it all, I do consider the Parkview Cluster to be the foundation of my career as this is where it all began 26 years ago as a biology teacher at Parkview High School. I couldn’t be happier to be “home” each and every day as I continue working with students, teachers, and parents.
Last year was a great year in the Trickum Community, where students not only succeeded but they excelled. As we look to this year, we continue to look for great student achievement, both in academics and social maturity and growth. I pledge to communicate and work with each of you to be certain our students are learning and that decisions continue to be made with our students’ best interests in mind. I look forward to meeting and working with you to ensure high levels of learning for every student in the Trickum Middle School family.
Sincerely,
Ryan Queen
